Dear study teams,
As the days lengthen and the daffodils are blooming, we wanted to send an early spring update re the PEARL and SELINA studies in the CRUK funded DeLIVER program.
We attach some graphs and tables below re recruitment to PEARL and SELINA - I know most of us like data and graphs (and some healthy competition - no names) and I hope you enjoy these - do scroll down.
A huge thanks for the sustained effort in recruitment from most sites. In this newsletter we wanted to give a shout to Hull and Leeds who received the most recent hampers for top recruitment (picture from Leeds - thank you)
A call out also to Royal Devon who recently recruited our 700th PEARL patient (now at 747) and have surpassed their target recruitment in only 7 weeks since they started recruitment (now at 22 patients). SELINA also making steady progress, now at 40 patients.
We’ve had a number of sites enquiring about sending their stored samples to Oxford. We are working on increasing the -80 freezer storage capacity in Oxford and hope to be able to begin shipments in the very near future. In the meantime, you may wish to begin completing the sample manifest. This will need to be completed ahead of any shipments being arranged. Please note, there are 2 worksheets and the ‘Sample List’ worksheet should be completed one row per sample. Please contact Jenni or Emily if you have any further questions on this. We believe that the cfDNA tubes that you have been sending and we have been spinning down real time will be a fantastic resource for scientific analysis and HCC EDx, and this will be complemented by additional biomarkers that can be assessed in the serum/plasma.
We’ll be sending out more cfDNA and Li-Hep tubes over the coming weeks to replace those expiring shortly. The cfDNA tubes are expensive, so any extra effort you can make to push recruitment before they expire would be really appreciated.
