Dear study teams,
This is our 6th newsletter to update on site recruitment and progress. Delighted that we are now at 367 patients for PEARL and 15 patients for SELINA, with underlying disease aetiology distributed as expected-still a way to go meet the targets of 3000 and 100+ respectively -but firmly underway. The tables extracted last week below demonstrate the extraordinary commitment of UK hepatology and we are truly proud to be in this community.
Oxford, Plymouth, Kings, Chelsea and Westminster and Middlesborough are leading the charge for PEARL but others also recruiting significant numbers (Aintree). Royal Free, Leeds and Plymouth have recently started recruitment to SeLINA-adding to those recruited by Emma and the team at Oxford.
We sent a small gift of appreciation to Middlesbrough (Julie and Leanne in the photo -shared with permission!) and Bradford- for pushing on through August and over recruiting…these are our ‘Sites of the Summer 2022’ 😊.

Now that we are making significant progress in recruitment, we hope to establish the Trial Steering Committee that will meet every 3 months to progress science -and we will keep you all in the loop with this too of course.
